"Sweet Potatoes is all about people coming together for good food in a comfortable place," says Vivian Joiner, who co-owns the restaurant with chef Stephanie Tyson. "With the way the economy is, I think everyone just wants a place they can get a good meal and feel welcomed. We try our best to be that place."

Inside, the cafe's soft-orange walls, dark wooden furniture and lively jazz music create a space that is cozy and chic. With its warm, neighborly charm, Sweet Potatoes feels like an extension of one's own home - one Filled with plenty of good eats. You can sample some of the delicious cuisine during The Big Eat, when choices range from a Creole-inspired catfish dish to a mouthwatering meatloaf recipe. There's also a Southern-inspired spaghetti platter and a blackened salmon dish (called Carolina Salmon Florentine) on tap. According to Joiner, "All of the signature dishes epitomize what Sweet Potatoes is all about."
