Salem Academy and College
Founded in 1772, Salem is the oldest educational institution for women in the country. It consists of Salem Academy—a college-preparatory day and boarding school for girls in grades 9-12—and Salem College, which offers undergraduate degrees for women; co-educational graduate-degree programs in education and programs for men and women ages 23and older via the Martha H. Fleer Center for Adult Education.
