What began in the late 1980s as a fundraiser for gardens at Wilkes Community College, as well as a tribute to the late musician Merle Watson, has become a major music festival that brings bluegrass music lovers from all over the world each Spring.

Spontaneous pick-and-grin sessions erupt as folks head to various venues, all with one thing in mind the celebration of the Appalachian music so closely linked to our region.
