Peace College is a liberal arts and sciences college for women founded in 1857 by William Peace and is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) The College’s original structure, Main Building, was used as a hospital during the Civil War then as a Freedmen’s Bureau, before reopening as an educational institution in 1872. Peace College offers baccalaureate degrees in a wide array of disciplines.
