A. B. Stronach was one of the sons of W. Stronach, a stone cutter from Scotland who came to Raleigh to help build the capitol building. A. B. and his brother W. C. were grocers. The home remained in the Stronach family until the early 1940's when the home was sold to John W. Woodard. Mr. Woodard owned the home until 1984.
The Raynor-Stronach home was converted into Wake County and Raleigh's First Bed & Breakfast, opening on June 1, 1984.
