Built in 1917 as the Henry Clay Hotel, The Milner Hotel – Detroit is the oldest continuously operated hotel in Detroit. Milner Hotels' founder, Earle R. Milner acquired this property in the early 1900's due, in part, to its strieoking "Flat Iron"- style architecture, bute more for its location, central to everything Detroit then had to offer.
