The Company specializes in forming partnerships with parents, public and private schools, community organizations and governmental agencies to get superior academic results for their students. During the 2007-08 school year, MasterMind Prep served more than 1,500 students in more than 125 schools in North Carolina. MasterMind Prep opened its first learning center in Greensboro, N.C., in fall 2008 and offers in-home tutoring services in the Triangle and Charlotte.

MasterMind Prep was founded in late 2001 and operates throughout the state of North Carolina and has provided services in Virginia. The Company has passed a rigorous process to be approved by State Boards of Education in North Carolina and Virginia as a provider of education services to schools labeled by the state as "in need of improvement." MasterMind Prep is not a franchise, and its management has many years of experience in education, business and public affairs.
Their name reflects their philosophy that "all children can learn," thus their belief that "all students are masterminds" with the potential to dramatically improve their skills, knowledge and confidence. They use a unique approach called The MasterMind Method, which includes a learning system based on teaching methods backed by more than 30 years of scientific evidence. These methods, which include an emphasis on Direct Instruction, are considered more intensive than traditional “tutoring” and are proven to achieve superior results.
MasterMind Prep serves students who need Academic Recovery services (including those with learning disabilities), as well as students who need Academic Maintenance or Academic Enrichment. They provide programs in basic reading and math skills, reading comprehension, analytical reading, writing, spelling and grammar, math computation, problem-solving, concepts and applications, pre-algebra, Algebra, geometry, study and organizational skills, homework management, test preparation for the SAT, ACT and PSAT, life skills and employability skills.
The Company has directors in the Triad, Triangle, Charlotte and Eastern North Carolina to work with parents and schools in implementing its programs.
