The restaurant's intimacy is evidenced not only in the size of the space, but also in the size and space between staff. Mother-and-son chef team Janis and Tommy Karathanas have been working together at Mozelle's for almost two years. Jams handles the lunch crowd, while Tommy holds down the dinner folks, and both collaborate with owner Jennifer Manner to bring fresh local flavors to every table. The pair is currently collaborating on new winter lunch and dinner menus that will arrive this month.
If you come to Mozelle's and find a wait, don't be afraid to take a seat at the bar, one of the best seats in the house according to the staff, since you can watch the chefs in action through the open kitchen.
In the meantime, take note of the restaurant's attention to detail. From the colors and design, to the complimentary pillows and blankets for outdoor diners, to the bold, yet comforting cuisine, Mozelle’s is the epitome of Southern hospitality.
