Pewter Rose Bistro draws inspiration from all of the cultures that have come together to form the American melting pot. Fresh, local ingredients are always featured, but they are presented in a variety of creative, worldly ways. From Mexican, Middle-Eastern, and Hawaiian appetizers to Spanish, Italian, and Moroccan entrees, the whole world is on display. American standards like crab cakes and a grilled ribeye round out the menu. The bistro's wine list is 500-strong, and all can be ordered over dinner or at the full bar. By night, Pewter Rose is home to Tutto Mondo , a velvet-draped nightclub with energetic DJs, ace bartenders, and ready access to the bistro's full menu. We have been serving friends, family and guests for over 20 years. Thank you to all who continue to make it possible. Their location is less than one mile from the uptown business district; in the heart of historic South End and the Dilworth neighborhood. Plus we have a stop on The Light Rail! The restaurant and nightclub occupy the second floor of a turn-of-the-century textile warehouse. Its original massive wood beams and soaring 30-foot ceilings, flanked front and back by walls of French paned glass provide a unique home for two of Charlotte's most popular establishments.
Chef Bragg and staff offer menus that are "Internationally- American," drawing on the diverse, ethnic and cultural heritage of the United States - relating it to the palate of the region. Local produce, fresh seafood, poultry, beef, pork, game meats, and vegetarian items are all interpreted in unique yet "comfortable" ways. The extensive wine list of over 200 selections is an evolving work of love by Owner Susie Peck. With emphasis on French and California wines, each has been hand selected. They are proud to note that their wine list has received numerous awards from the prestigious "Wine Spectator" magazine. They also offer 10-12 wines by the glass on a monthly basis. Whether you join us to "power-lunch," relax or romance, your experience will be surrounded with lush greenery, original local art and an eclectic blend of furnishings from antique to 50's. Your visit will be equally comfortable, whether in business, casual or evening attire. About their Organic and Earth-Friendly choices. They have always tried to conduct their business with a "holistic" approach. What's good for the community they serve and live in, is good for their business. While various restrictions prevent us from offering a completely organic menu, they select items that may have the most impact on their guests' healthy eating. They currently use several organic chicken and turkey products, hormone/anti-biotic free beef - very lean and freshly ground for their lunch menu; as well as some organic lettuces, and numerous other items as available. Vegetarian concerns are also always considered when they create their seasonal menus. Many more items on the menu are compatible for various vegetarian diets with simple preparation change requests.
