Durham Technical Community College
Durham Tech awards diplomas, certificates, and associate degrees for more than 75 program options. Its University Transfer program is among the state’s most respected as well as largest. Durham Tech’s associate in arts and associate in science programs allow students to complete the first two years of a four-year degree and then transfer as a junior to a university in the University of North Carolina System or at other colleges and universities in the state and throughout the nation.

Durham Tech has the only Opticianry and Dental Laboratory Technology programs in the state’s community college system, and the college boasts the only Clinical Trials Research Associate program in the nation. Durham Tech is well respected for its health care programs such as Nursing, Pharmacy Technology, Occupational Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, and Surgical Technology. The college’s new Medical Assisting program prepares students to work in physicians’ offices, as well as in hospital clinics and outpatient facilities. Other programs include Emergency Preparedness; Environment, Health, and Safety; Electrical/Electronics; Industrial Systems Technology; Machining; Business Administration; and other high-demand career fields.
