Town of  Cary Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department

The nationally accredited Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department plans and provides a variety of enjoyable and cost-effective recreation, sports, environmental, historical and cultural arts programs and services to the community. Designated as a FIT Community in 2007, Cary currently has 28 parks and natural areas, a green way and trails system of more than 58 miles, four sports and entertainment venues and nine facilities with staff to assist you with any questions. In 2008, Cary also was named one of six inaugural members in the “NCAA Championship City” program; the town will host multiple NCAA Division I, II and III men’s and women’s championships through the year 2012.

It is the mission of the Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department to serve, educate, and enhance life for the citizens of Cary. Our professional staff plans and provides a variety of enjoyable and cost-effective recreation, sports, environmental, historical, and cultural arts programs and services. We acquire, develop, beautify, conserve, and maintain a system of parks, greenways, and recreation facilities which will assure quality leisure opportunities for all Cary residents. The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Advisory Board and three committees represent the citizens of Cary in partnership with the Town.
