By Car or RV — If you decide a road trip is to be part of your visit, you’ll enjoy the drive to the City of Arts & Innovation, conveniently situated just six hours from Washington, D.C., and about five hours from Atlanta.
By Plane — Flying in and out of Winston-Salem could not be easier with Piedmont Triad International Airport just a half hour from downtown. The airport offers 86 nonstop flights to 17 destinations via major carriers, including Allegiant, American Airlines/American Eagle, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, United and US Airways.
For private transportation, the county-operated, general aviation Smith Reynolds Airport is located just minutes from downtown. Smith Reynolds is the airport of choice for a significant amount of corporate jet and large aircraft charter activity.
By Train — Hop the Amtrak train to nearby High Point and then take the shuttle transport directly to Winston-Salem and find yourself right in the middle of a bustling downtown filled with great hotels, restaurants, shops, and artist’s boutiques.
Once here, there are plenty of taxis, limousines, public transportation vehicles, and automobile-rental services to get you around.
