Green River, Green River Game Land Public Fishing Area (PFA), Mill Springs


How To Go:
From Hendersonville (in Henderson County), take I-26 south to exit 28. Turn left at the exit on Green River Cove Road; go about four miles to Fishtop Falls access area on the left.

About the Green River:
Brush has been cleared from the area, and a foot trail leads to the river. This portion of Green River is a Designated Public Mountain Trout Water, and hatchery-supported regulations apply. The river is stocked with trout March through July. A special trout fishing license is required.

Primary Fish Species: Brook, brown and rainbow trout.

How To Go:
From Columbus, take Hwy. 108 east for 3.5 miles. Park is located on left at Polk County Middle School’s athletic complex.

About the Laughter Pond:
Universally accessible paved parking and trail lead to a fishing pier. Fishing tackle is available for loan for free.

Primary Fish Species: Catfish, largemouth bass, crappie and sunfish.
