How To Go:
From Troy, take N.C. 109 north. Go nine miles; turn left into the main entrance of the Uwharrie National Forest on S.R. 1153. Go 0.4 mile; turn right on Forest Service Road (F.S.R.) 576. Go 0.6 mile; turn right on F.S.R. 544. Go 2.5 miles; turn right on F.S.R. 597. Go 0.2 mile; turn left on F.S.R. 597A, which leads to the campground. From the intersection, go 0.5 mile to a fork in the road. Take the right fork, pass the Group Camp; go 0.6 mile to the parking area at the end of the road. The area is approximately 75 yards down the marked trail on the right.

About the Badin Lake:
This area includes a section of cleared, grassy shore-line and a 75-foot long floating pier with a 32-foot “T” at the end. The pier is universally accessible, but the access trail to the pier is undeveloped and somewhat rough. Fish attractors have been placed in front of and under the pier. Camping and restrooms are available at the main Forest Service campground.

Primary Fish Species: Largemouth bass, sunfish, crappie, catfish, carp, white perch, striped bass and white bass.

About the Badin Lake, Holt’s Cabin:
Brush has been cleared from approximately 250 yards of shoreline, and several hardwood trees have been cut and cabled to the shoreline. A National Forest picnic area with tables and charcoal grills is adjacent to the area.
