How To Go:
From Asheville, take I-40 east (or from Morganton, take I-40 west) to the Old Fort exit. Go east on U.S. 70 approximately two miles, turn on S.R. 1227 (Curtis Creek Road); go approximately two miles. The pier is on the left.

About the site:
A universally accessible pier and parking area have been constructed. This is a Designated Public Mountain Trout Water, and a special trout fishing license is required. Curtis Creek is managed under hatchery-supported, delayed-harvest regulations. Fishing is restricted from Oct. 1 through the first Saturday in June to catch and release with the use of artificial lures having one single hook. During the rest of the year, there are no lure restrictions or size limits, and the daily creel limit is seven trout. Trout are stocked March through July and in October and November.

Primary Fish Species: Brook, brown and rainbow trout.
