How To Go:
From Murphy, take U.S. 64 west; go about eight miles. Turn right on N.C. 294; go north 3.6 miles to the U.S. Forest Service Recreation Area on the right.

About the Cherokee Lake:
A universally accessible paved path starts in the parking lot and leads to a fishing pier that extends into the lake. Two fishing platforms are located along a hiking trail that leaves the paved path and goes along the shoreline to the dam. Fish attractors have beeninstalled around the pier and platforms. A sheltered picnic area with restrooms is provided.

Primary Fish Species: Largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish and channel catfish.
