Started 40 years ago in 1968 and located on rt. 44 in Canton Ct. as the Sporthouse - they are the Farmington Valleys oldest ski and snowboard shop. Unfortunately up until a few years ago skiers and riders were not able to show each other any love…. So in 1993 they opened Fattys Snowbords in New Hartford Ct., knowing it was only a matter of time before they could all love and respect one another - (basically just get along). After all, they’re all in search of the same thing - peace, love, snow, and cheaper lift tickets. Anyhow Fattys stayed in New Hartford for about 5 years until they felt it was safe to move snowboards in their ski shop.
Today they enjoy a great relationship where skiers and riders come together to make up for lost time, check out the latest gear, participate in event’s such as their annual “Fattys Parking Lot Jib Jam” and just feel good. They will continue to love and respect our sport, and each other for the next 40 years, they promise.
